So long 2010, more books for 2011.
At first I thought Tumblr’s just a venting machine for the things that I can’t utter to someone, then it became the mirror of my personality, my love for books and on photos of two people playing with their lips. From Maya Angelou quotes down to Cornelia Funke’s Inkheart. On being a Potter, Lost, House Fan. I just hope that you enjoyed everything that I shared on the table this year.
This blog became a vital part of my life this year, a platform that’ll be forever close to my heart. So close to the extent that I can’t even leave this thing for a couple days. Like when I was having my review for the Midwifery Board Exam last summer, mind you, I can’t open a book and study when I didn’t log on and check this blog out beforehand. Tumblr’s my ultimate guilty pleasure, my wardrobe to Narnia, that first ride on a broomstick, the high moments of a heroin addict, on a lighter note of course.
Someone asked me what Tumblr was the other day. It’s weird to explain what Tumblr is to someone because you can’t explain it, but you have to try in the best way you know how. Because it’s more than just a ‘blog’, asuming it is is an understatement. It’s like an internet high school with all the outcasts and different/weird kids all put together. Most of the coolest people you will ever meet are on here. The only problem is that they live miles and miles away from you.
Tumblr is like your ultimate diary, but the diary talks back. And yes Tumblr can be full of assholes, and let assholes be assholes. Like, yes! If you misspell a word they will make sure you know it, but if you need them, they will be there. They will listen. Everyone listens to you if you need them too, and most of us will try our best to make you feel better.
It’s dumb to meet people on an internet website and call them family, but for some people, it’s true.
To end this, I’d like to thank all of you, for the nth time, old and new readers alike. From 161 last year, the users following this blog blossomed to a riveting 30,000. An idea that I always find funny and bizarre, on the other hand, I’m glad that you’ll all there, keeping up with the high’s and low’s of my personality, always reminding me that I’m awesome and this and that during my tantrums. I love all of you, for the love of books. Till next year then.
